Dr. Daniel Zisenwine

Dr. Zisenwine is a researcher at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies, Tel Aviv University. Dr. Zisenwine's  research focuses on modern North African history and politics. His current research projects include a study of Tunisia’s post-revolution transitional justice process, and a book on Moroccan politics in the 1960s.
Dr. Zisenwine has taught courses on the Modern Middle East and North Africa at Tel Aviv University, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, The United States Naval Academy, Georgetown University, and the University of Basel, Switzerland.

 

He is the author of The Emergence of Nationalist Politics in Morocco (I.B.Tauris, 2010), Tunisia Under Ben Ali: A History of an Authoritarian Regime (I.B..Tauris, 2025) and co-edited, with Bruce Maddy Weitzman, The Maghrib in the New Century
(University Press of Florida, 2007) and Mohammed VI's Morocco (Routledge, 2012).
